After a 400-year slumber, a dormant volcano on the scenic island of Sumatra in Indonesia was suddenly reawakened in 2010.

Mount Sinabung has been erupting regularly ever since, with its last major eruption taking place in 2014, killing 16 people and forcing 30,000 people to flee their homes.

 What used to be a bustling community of farmers and their families has now become a ghost town after the mass evacuation three years ago.

Today, authorities are still wary of allowing residents to return to their homes as the volcano continues to spew fumes and clouds of dust, reports Daily Mail.

But while there is an evacuation zone set in place in the area to keep former residents at bay, there are still are still some who find a way to enter.

Some thrill-seekers who were able to venture inside the “red zone” have captured some remarkable images in an abandoned village, finding beauty within the ghost town.
