‘IT’S A WHOPPING RM10 MIL’: RETIREE GOES TO SPORTS TOTO HQ WITH HIS CHILDREN TO COLLECT JACKPOT
PETALING JAYA – In a generous act of fatherly love, a 74-year-old man’s first move upon winning a RM10.4 million Toto 4D Jackpot 1 was fulfilling his son’s dream, to own a sports car.
The retiree from Selangor said his youngest son had always dreamt of driving a sports car since he was little, and that it gave him great pleasure as a father to fulfil his son’s dream, a statement by Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd said.
“When my son saw his dream sports car on the road last week, he told that he wanted the car so much that he would own it one day.
“I wanted to help him make his dream come true. So I used my children’s identity card numbers as combination – ‘0666 and 8933’ – to bet on Toto 4D Jackpot. Luckily enough, I won the jackpot after three draws,” he said.
The father of five had collected his winnings together with his children at the Sports Toto head office in Kuala Lumpur on April 21, two days after winning the jackpot.
“We even had a family meeting about how to spend the winnings before coming to collect it. To be fair to my other children, we will share the prize money which is a whopping RM10.4 million,” he said.
He is also a longtime customer of Sports Toto himself, having started playing even before its privatisation in 1985, but now only plays Toto 4D and Toto 4D Jackpot.
