Post-mortem shows baby girl died two days before she was found near factory, with police trying to establish identity of parents.

PETALING JAYA: The police are looking for the parents of a baby, believed to have been born prematurely and abandoned near a factory in Sungei Petani, Kedah on Sunday, Star reported.

To add to the tragic circumstance of the baby girl, which a post-mortem showed had died two days before she was found, was that she was headless and without arms.

Kuala Muda district police chief ACP Md Zukir Md Isa said that the police received calls from the public on Sunday afternoon after the body was discovered near the factory in Batu Arang.

“The initial investigation based on interviews and statements from the public showed that the body was surrounded by several dogs.

“The post-mortem conducted at the Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah showed that the child was dead for two days prior to the post-mortem,” he said in a statement released yesterday.

Referring to the search for the parents, Zukir said they were still trying to establish the identify of the child’s parents.

“We also believe that this is a case of concealment of birth by secret disposal of a dead body and are investigating the case under Section 318 of the Penal Code,” Zukir said, according to Star. -FMT
